Working with Arez began with an initial session

that helped me to do the work of decolonizing

my body & mind.

Her therapeutic approach, engaging the non-dominant

hand and art based practices helped me to see how
deeply I had accepted compliance as normal,

in a systemthat is structurally harmful. By the end of the first
session I had more insight into the opportunities for healing

and decolonization that I ever thought possible.
I know deeply that this insight would not have been possible

in traditional cognitive therapy.

Arez's approach to engage and hold space for the forgotten

and hidden parts of our true selves, opens
up pathways for transformation. The awareness brought

forward from working with my non-dominant
hand enabled me to see my life differently.

That awareness cultivation was possible by engaging the
parts of myself that had been conditioned to hide,

in a system that asks for conformity.

Now I am able to embrace the parts of me that have

been there all along, yet hidden from view,
to create and live a more genuine and authentic life.

Working with Arez has helped me to
trust that inner wisdom.
